PROCESSING TIME FOR OCI APPLICATIONS
It may please be noted that currently it may take about 12 weeks for OCI applications to be processed. Applicants can ascertain the status of their applications on the website by using the file number communicated by the Consulate. They are also being informed once the OCI Certificate is received by the Consulate from India where the applications are further processed and the Certificates printed. We hope to be able to reduce the processing time soon. We regret that it will not be possible for us to give the status of the application on telephone. Applicants are requested to bear with us and avoid enquiry until after 12 weeks of submission of application. [Minors (below 18 years) whose both parents are Indian citizens are not eligible for registration as Overseas Citizens of India. They are, however, eligible to apply for PIO Card] |
