Return mail charges:
Please add the following charges in addition to the application fee for returning the documents.

EXPRESS MAIL: USD $20.00
PRIORITY MAIL:USD $10.00



  • Please do not send pre-paid envelopes for return mail.
  • For the applications sent in mail, Fee should be paid by Cashier's Check/Certified Check or Money Order made payable to the Consulate General of India, Houston, TX.
  • Personal Checks/Credit Card/Cash are not accepted for Mailed-In applications
  • The Consulate is not responsible for delay or loss of documents/applications in mail.
  • Applicants are advised to send documents by using express service with acknowledgment/confirmation of delivery facilities to avoid postal delay.
  • Processing time for applications received by mail is normally 7 working / business days, after the receipt of the application form. Applicants are requested to refrain from making enquiries during the processing period. The name of applicant, zip code, telephone number and confirmed time and date of receipt of document/application at the Consulate will be needed to check status.
