    Consul General calls on Hon. Bob Riley, Governor of Alabama

Consul General Sanjiv Arora called on Hon. Bob Riley, Governor of the State of Alabama at the State Capitol, Montgomery on 11 March, 2010. Their discussions focused on Governor Riley’s visit to India, at the head of a business delegation, in the first week of May, 2010. They shared the view that there is vast potential for further expanding cooperation and partnerships between India and Alabama in business, education, science & technology, and other areas. 

Consul General was invited to participate, as a Special Guest, in the Governor’s 2010 Trade Excellence Award Ceremony. At this function, he interacted with representatives of several companies in Alabama, some of whom would be a part of the Mission led by Governor Riley to India. Consul General also had a detailed meeting with key officials involved in the Governor’s forthcoming visit to India

During his visit to Montgomery, Consul General also visited the Alabama State University and met its President, Dr. William Harris, faculty members and Indian students.

The Consulate continues its pro-active engagement with the nine States of the USA in all areas of mutual interest, with a view to further augment India’s multi-faceted cooperation with each of these States.
