The Consulate General of India Houston offers consular services such as passport, visa, OCI, renunciation and miscellaneous services.

While the applications for passport, visa, OCI and renunciation services are received through M/s Cox & Kings Global Services Ltd. (CKGS), applications for miscellaneous consular services are received directly at the Consulate either through postal mail/courier or from walk-in applicants.

Till now, the normal hours of operation for providing miscellaneous consular services to walk-in applicants has been from 09:30 AM – 12:30 PM (submission of applications by the applicants) and 04:00 – 05:00 PM (receipt of documents by the applicants) on weekdays.

This Consulate is pleased to announce extended hours of operation for the convenience of applicants walking into the Consulate for the following miscellaneous consular services:

I.  Miscellaneous services requiring record in passport

1. Emigration Clearance Not Required (ECNR)

II. Attestation of documents

1. Power of Attorney
2. Attestation of Civil documents
3. Attestation of Agricultural/Commercial Documents
4. Attestation for Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN)
5. Sworn Affidavit for issue of child’s passport
6. Attestation of NORI documents
7. Attestation of Surety Bond for Statement of Need(SON)

III. Certifications

1. Life Certificate
2. Solemnization/Registration of Marriage under the Foreign Marriage Act, 1969
3. Birth Registration
4. Birth Certificate based on entry in Passport
5. Certification of marriage based on entry in  Passport
6. NORI Waiver Certificate
7. Police Clearance Certificate
8. NRI Certificate
9. No Objection/Research Project Clearance Certificate for OCI/PIO Card holders

IV. Death Related Services

1. Registration of Death/Issue of Death Certificate and Issue of No Objection Certificate for transportation body of the deceased to India
2. Carrying of ashes of the deceased to India
3. Attestation of death certificates

V. Emergency Certificate

The details of extended timings for the year 2016 are as follows:

• Until 07:00 PM for Applicants residing in the Greater Houston Area on the following days:

• 21 December 2016

• Applicants residing outside the Greater Houston Area may walk into the Consulate on the following days between 1000 - 1700 hrs. The applications should be submitted to the Consulate between 10:30 - 1300 hrs and documents can be received by the applicants between 1400 – 1630 hrs:
